In mid 2012 Forton and Pentax Medical worked together on a flagship project – relocating parts of the Pentax’s service operations into a newly constructed repair facility in Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second largest city. Throughout the selection process, the company was presented some 30 potential sites, all of them located in EU countries. Forton’s contribution was for identifying the most suitable location for the new premises, leading lease negotiations and arranging fit-out works so that Pentax could meet all set deadlines and budgets.

CHALLENGES

Recognizing the set of favorable conditions for doing business such as relatively low acquisition and construction costs, highly skilled labor, good infrastructure, political and financial stability, Pentax had Bulgaria shortlisted for its prospective location.

Contrary to other more mature commercial markets, Bulgaria had limited offer of speculative real estate within the industrial and logistics sector, even in Plovdiv where the industrial area had rapidly expanded in recent years. Besides, Pentax Medical’s requirement for a new repair facility fell between a typical industrial and office real estate offer.

As part of the initial requirement, Pentax needed a partner to manage the fit-out and ASTI works and guarantee smooth and timely delivery of the works.

RESULTS:

Thanks to its cooperation with Forton, Pentax Medical stayed within the allocated budget and met all set deadlines. The company managed to move into the premises just in six months from the initial contact.

In January 2013 Pentax Medical Bulgaria was amongst eight companies awarded Investor of The Year 2012 by Invest Bulgaria Agency and presented by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev.
