01 THE OPPORTUNITY
Cushman & Wakefield Forton performed Office Real Estate services for Belgian financial group KBC. The company was exploring different options in Bulgaria and several other cities in Central and Eastern Europe for opening of new shared service office centre. Through identifying possible relocation options and implementing the company’s corporate requirements, KBC Group N.V. – Branch Bulgaria, leased 2 250 sq.m. of premium office space in Varna in the former Pfohe Mall Varna, the building is now fully reconstructed and refurbished as office space class A.
02 THE SOLUTION
KBC Group has been steadily present on the Bulgarian market for more than a decade, holding leadership positions in the Bulgarian financial sector with its companies United Bulgarian Bank (UBB) and DZI. For several months now the new company KBC Bulgaria Branch has been operating in Sofia and already numbers 100 mainly IT-profiled employees.
03 THE RESULTS
The successful cooperation with Forton resulted in a lease contract and plans for more than 300 new jobs in our seaside capital in the coming year. Part of the employees in Varna will be engaged in activities such as HR, project management, facility management, IT and risk management, which are fundamental for the operation of the company. New positions will be opened literally every week, until forming all project teams.
