Kamenitza

Space: 30 000 sq. m.
Location: Plovdiv

Cushman & Wakefield Forton’s team facilitated a successful auction on behalf of Kamenitza for sale of brown field land plot with a size of 30 000 sq.m in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

    CHALLENGES

Kamenitza production facility had been located in a relatively central location in Plovdiv since the company was established in 1885. Due to the expansion the city and imposed regulation restrictions, expansion wasn’t possible and the company took the strategic decision to relocate in Haskovo. The closure of the former plant meant the site had to be redeveloped as its sale was supposed to generate value and be completed in a manner that prevented the company’s public image.

    RESULTS:

Kamenitza kept ownership of 3000 sq.m property where they built-to-own the new brewery Pivovarnitsa Kamenitza consisted of a craft brewery, restaurant, museum, meeting place and office. For the remaining land we organized an auction to gather offers from potential investors. The redevelopment was meant to preserve the spirit of the site. The concepts by the three selected developers shared a common vision with Kamenitza and the property was re-shaped into a mixed-use development that co-locates residential and office space, shared park and the Pivovarnitsa Kamenitza.
